After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Lindstrom completed his doctorate degree in medicine in 1972. He conducted research, residency and fellowship training in cornea at the University of Minnesota and affiliated hospitals and extended his anterior segment surgery fellowship training at Mary Shiels Hospital in Dallas followed by a Heed Fellowship in Glaucoma at University Hospital in Salt Lake City, after two years of private practice in Dallas. In 1980, he returned to the University of Minnesota, where he spent ten years on the faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology. He entered private practice in 1989 and has led the growth and expansion of Minnesota Eye Consultants, having served as managing partner for 15 years.
Dr. Lindstrom has been awarded over 40 patents in ophthalmology and has developed a number of corneal preservation solutions, intraocular lenses and instruments that are used in clinical practices globally. His professional affiliations are extensive.
