Matt Oerding is a global business executive with over 20 years of leadership experience with Novartis, General Mills and General Electric. He has held leadership roles in marketing, strategy and general management in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
After graduating from Duke University, Matt served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. After getting his MBA, he started his corporate career in brand management with General Mills, working in the snacks division and also launching new cereal products such as Honey Nut Chex. He then went to General Electric, leading the launch of a new oven cooking technology for the appliances division.
Passionate about making a difference in people’s lives, Matt focused his career on the healthcare sector, joining Novartis’ eye care division in 2001. Over the last 15 years, Matt has launched new contact lens products globally, led R&D pipeline efforts for new eye care devices, and been a country general manager running over $100 million businesses with full P&L accountability. Before leaving Novartis, Matt ran marketing, strategy, and commercial innovation for the $2.5b global vision care business for Alcon. In 2015, Matt co-founded Treehouse Eyes, a startup eye care service focused on new models to treat myopia in children.
Matt lives in Boulder, CO with his wife and two daughters.
